S/Y Jennifer is, after a hard slug against the wind, in Archangelsk in the White Sea, Russia. The city has 350 000 inhabitants and used to be the largest port in Russia, now it’s St Petersburg. We entered the city via the huge Dvina river delta. Along the delta we passed numerous timber- and paper mills. Kiruna (in Sweden) is the sister city. After the Russian revolution 1917 the British supported the white army against the red communist army via Archangelsk and during WWW2 USA supplied lots of war material via Archangelsk. We are moored here at a small yacht club with few facilities. Due to very bad weather the coming days, we will leave today June 25, earlier than planned. We will sail 500 NM to Kirkenes in northernmost Norway, ETA there July 1. And finally – summer arrived.
